  • Heartbreaker

She swings in a smile on her face

Wearing high heels and satin and lace

But beware of her and her fast pace

Cause she’se a heartbreaker fallen from grace

    A heartbreaker in experience born

She was cast down and her wings were shorn

Flung down by just such a fake-

Now she’s a heartbreaker fallen from grace

She’s loud and she’s boisterous and plenty of fun

But she now is out to do what’s been done

Many have tried to save that prettyface

But she’se a heartbreaker fallen from grace.

The deep set eyes and perilous gaze

Entrapping hearts like a starlet on stage

She once loved but has lost her place

Oh what a travesty fallen from grace

  • An easy question.

I heard a lady on a talk show today say she would like to hear how the canidates As a very fallable human I  and could never say for certain but I would bet the national debt one isn’t and neither is the other. Obama openly supports what the Bible labels as unnatural and supports many issues which a true Christian would have a very tough time with. While I respect Romney a great deal the answer for him too would have to be no because of the beliefs about Jesus generally held by Mormons.

Now someone not being a Christian does not mean I would not vote for them. It simply means I recognize the truth and have one more tool for judging character.

  • Judgemental story

I saw a story today about a guy who practiced abstinence and basically called those who did not wait for their wedding night what they are. While all sin it is nice to see not everyone is afraid to speak the truth because it is judgemental.

Just because Christians are far from perfect those condemned by Biblical standards often try to distract from the truth by pointing out the flaws in the followers of Christ. When applying scripture properly there are not many things that Christians can condemn  but those confirmed by the Spirit and the word to be so. For it is not the Christian setting the standard but merely pointing to God’s.

Ultimately this type of judgement helps set people free. It protects them for one reason people through off moral restraint is that they have been taught that there really is no wrong only stupid and feeling good  is often worth being a little stupid.

Morality is very freeing for it sets free the conscience from legalism as well as licence. It sets boundaries whereby society can function. Indeed if people follow scriptural standards many laws could be eliminated. It is interesting to note that historically nations with the most scriptural foundations have had fewer or at least simpler laws.

  • I hope I’m wrong

I just read a story about Chick-Fil-A and it looks like they caved by agreeing to certain demands by Gay activist. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/chick-fil-funding-anti-gay-groups-175154249.html?_esi=1

They apparantly have not only quit funding certain groups but are drawing up documents which espouse compromise. This is and has always been a Christian organization which never pushed its beliefs on its employees but had certain standards. The only good thing about this news story is that it is a news story from the media and therefore automatically suspect.

  • Fighting for truth

I recently saw that Lance Armstorng is being punished for doping when there is no proof. He was pursuid for years tested again and again and never found guilty. Now because he finally decided to quit fighting smoe merely assume he is guilty. Now while he  might or might not be guilty, after 15 years anyone would be tired of repeating over and over his innocence. This witch hunt is a great illustration of how we must stand for the truth year in and out. It takes courage may we never slack in the defense of what is just and right.

  • The great communicator

I heard part of a speech given years ago at Reagan’s Republican convention and it was nice that he did not try to be nice to a man bringing disgrace to the high office; not only did he not shy away from confronting his miserable record but he intentionally did not use the title president calling him instead Mr. Carter. I miss the days of the great communicator.

  • The Miss Marple principle

In the last couple of years I have been blessed to see much more of this great nation than when I was younger. I spent a little over 3 years in California crossed the nation and now have spent some time in the DC area. One thing about these areas is people seem to think that you can’t understand something if you have not experienced the culture. Now barring the obvious lessons of experience I tend to believe that human nature is the same. So regardless of education, which is some cases can be a serious drawback, take away the culture and people are people with the same basic needs and sin nature. I believe this is illustrated perfidy in one of the greatest fictional characters by Agatha Christie. Miss Marple knew the world because she knew her village.

  • Interfaith?

I saw an advertizement the other day for an interfaith conference and this made me stop and consider. I believe in interdenominational conferences, these can be legitimate but not interfaith. There is nothing wrong with partnering with others to achieve social and yes political goals, but there should never be any idea of interfaith we must never legitimize the worship of other gods, even false Jesus whom some set up and say is the same one we worship.

If they claim that Jesus is not the only way to heaven, If they claim we must accomplish works such as sabbath or baptism to be saved, If they claim He was only a prophet or never rose, and finally if they claim any thing which is not God can become Him or that there are more than one the Trinity, or they allow sinful living, or claim that man is not basically evil, than we can not legitimize their claims in any way. No there is really no such thing as interfaith.

  • detecting cults

We all know what a cult is right. I mean do we really? If someone were to ask you right now how would you define it?

Dictionary com defines it among other ways as

“a particular system of religious Worship, especially with reference to its rites and ceremonies. ” By this definition even true Christians could be called a cult. We should be on the look out for those who would twist the word of God and grace of Christ.

    What prompted these thoughts

Today I was with a group of individuals and one particularly crusty female who talked in very graphic terms. I noticed that one other member was also very quiet: he seemed uncomfortable and afterwards asked him about it. He seemed to know the scripture incredibly well and have a good grasp on history. When I told him I was studying Old Testament he opened right up and talked about Constantine and seemed to specifically stress the worship on the Sabbath. I was impressed by his knowledge of scripture and history as well as his seeming devotion to the Bible as his authority and balanced view of not behaving” mindless faith”

Upon finally conceding to come with him to a Bible study I found that he seemed to believe that the sabbath was central to Gods covenant, not too many problems yet, that to be saved one had to be baptized, and that we had all had previous lives up in heaven…….  there was some more but you get the idea. The sad thing is not barring psychological techniques employed by him and probably on him he has obviously passionate about his faith. He even talked about the importance of knowing the true Jesus, How ironic.

I guess all this shows that immorality and false religion are not too far apart. My main hope for this young man is that he will see throughout the interpretation of his mentors and actually see the Bible for what it is.  For myself may God forgive my weakness and continue to change me and allow me the privilege of sharing his Light.
