  •  The liberals are  trying to trash the Constitution further by executive order and infringe on the second ammendment.  I wonder if conservatives will stand up on this.  The real recent tragedy of kids death is being used as an emotional weapon for the liberal cause. Yep sad as it is nothing new.

  • Essential?

I was shocked when a Christian who was sure of Calvinism questioned the existence of a literal hell, because how could a righteous God punish for eternity. How can one stand for such items so surely and reject others. Calvinism’s five points has fewer Biblical passages supporting it than the existence of hell.

It is because that this belief system never fully addresses certain passages I am suspicious of it.  No Christian theology is perfect and there are many debatable issues; the existence of hell is not one of them. I heard a marvelous correlation on the radio this week in regard to the virgin birth. To be saved one does not have to know of the virgin birth, it is not essential to acceptance, but to reject it upon knowing of it is to reject the perfection of Jesus and therefor reject the Jesus we know and the salvation we share.

Legalism and judgement has always been an issue but far more prevalent in the US today is the moral equivalency and relativity even within the church. This is the reason so many claim to be Christians and are sadly ignorant and misled, many not even knowing the Jesus they think they do.

  • I saw a stopry the other day titled NRA goes dark. It got me to thinking about all the good sites here on xanga and the people around. Not that all good men are silent but the roar of the crowd tries to drown them out and many lights do go dark. I believe this is why Jesus said let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven.

  • I was having a discussion with a liberal at work today. My ultimate purpose is to bring him to salvation but as is often the case we were discussing the governments nanny state role in our lives.  This is important because government is  god to many people it grants them power as priests over the teaming masses of ignorant plebians. We were discussing the laws on softdrink sizes. And I made the comment that basically the government is telling people they are too stupid to take care of themselves and unable to take personal responsibility his response was essentially ” that is insensitive  we would never tell anyone that”

  • Fundamentalist

At dictionary. com it is defined among other things as strict adherence to the fundamental principles or beliefs. While this can be a negative thing and refer to legalists, usually it is used by the world to define true Christians. It is used by people who do not see the difference between true believers and groups such as the JW who by their own so called christian statement of faith deny the Trinity.

Our problem as Christians if it ever was legalism has swayed greatly to tolerance of wickedness in our churches and in our lives. It is because of our lack of purity that our prayers our hindered and our culture decays. This is not a purity based on works such as in the Law of the sabbath, a shadow of God’s rest for His people, but a purity of love empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Thank God for his faithfulness first to his historical people and then to us as grafted branches.
  • I was listening to the ACLJ on the radio today and heard that Some nations were trying to take control of the internet away from the people in the US who have overseen, and done a fair job for years.  Now while these private enterprizes may not be the best but the international community including many totalitarian regimes is historically far less trustworthy than our own people in maintaining freedom.

  • Typical intolerance- We were putting up Christmas decorations at the office today and someone told me we could not hang put up a decoration that said Merry Christmas. It seems like there is an atheist somewhere in our office and this is an EO violation. So the actions of the many are dictated by the religion of the one.

If you look at this correctly the government is interfering in religion because Christmas is a religious holiday and we celebrate it. I have never heard any one complain about the offensiveness of halloween, which is also has at heart a religious, albeit evil origin.

  • I am planning on writing a book on some very basic Christian principles. The below are some ideas taken from two of the chapters one called Incursions: Cults and Counterfeits and the other under the working title Education and Indoctrination.

    1. You know I heard one person commenting on the more educated generally being more liberal or humanistic in thought as if this proves that such views of the elite are correct. What they failed to take into account is the vast amount of indoctrination as opposed to education that goes on in academia. Just like most journalist are liberal so are most teachers and professors. This is by design as they say they want to influence the younger generation.

    2. Many so called Christians can say they believe in your Jesus and make fine sounding arguments. If you keep to some of the central points of the gospel and know what their own holy men say it is easy to show that they truly teach a different Jesus. below are a few comparisons of one of the major cults with many strange teachings teaches at its core.

Cult teaching- The Father was once aman like us who progressed to become a God and has a body of flesh and bone(Doctrine and Covenants 130:22).

Scripture teaches as shown in John 1:1 that God was at the beginning already there. This particular verse refers to Jesus as part of the Trinity existing for eternity. Scripture also specifies that God is Spirit as Jesus Talk with the woman at the well points out

    Cult Teaching 2 -Jesus Christ,humans, angels, and fallen spirits including Satan are all eternal beings thatwere never created and that are all spirit brothers and sisters.In particular, Christ and Lucifer  were two spirit brothers;(Doctrine andCovenants 93:21-33; Gospel Principles [2009], 9-10;

This Goes Directly against creation in Genesis and the as well as the description of angels in Hebrews 1.

There are as stated above many more heresies and weird teachings but even these two should suffice to show this group at its core is far from servants of the living God.

  • Silence

    It thunders its anger

    It taunts with its pride

    It hits the chest

    With a hammer inside

    Used as a weapon

    Curled up in defense

    Like the Sword of wisdom

    It pierces every defense

    The power of doubt

    When exquisitely used

    The psychology of man

    And logic confused

  • Godly fear-Asking God for mercy and not to be set up.

God has always dealt with nations in the way that he deals with people. That is he sets them up and tears them down if they do not acknowledge Him. Before Israel was formed there were obviouslyboth Godly kings and priests as the examples of Jethro, Melchizedek and in a twisted way Balaam shows.

God did not punish the people of Canaan until the full measure of their sin was accomplished. When Ballaak zonof summoned the prophet to curse Israel we see further evidence of God’sspecific covenant with a nation. In modern times he has blessed the Unitedstates for two reasons the first is that we were for many years a true bastion of the gospel sending forth missionaries all over the world and the second of course was our support for His nation of Israel after it was formed.

God has been merciful to those in darkness and has always revealed himself to those who truly seek him this isfound in Paul’s address to a people and their altar to an unknown god Acts17:23. It is also shown in Jesus conversation with the woman at the well(John4:19-24).

In spite of God’s long suffering heis a just God and that means yes he does send people to hell. Proverbs 16:4 says that the The LORD works outeverything for his own ends— even the wicked for a day of disaster. Furthermoreas this verse shows once men have passed the point of His tolerance He will usethem as examples to future or in the case of Antichrist past generations.

When any society or  person turns their back on the knowledge oftruth one of the first things that it seems God hands them over to is perversion and sexual immorality. Just one of many verses for this is Proverbs22:13-15.Once pagans, apostates, or even rebellioussons cross the line God’s judgment goes even to the area of our free will as hehands over men to the power of satan. God does not tempt and this is true but Hesets us up for failure. David counting his fighting men is a perfect example ofthis. It is also why in the Lord’s prayer we ask Him not to lead us intotemptation.

Destruction is not always a cursebut can be a blessing, a chastisement, or mercy as well this is illustrated inthe life of one of Israels tragic figures the figure of King Ahab;.in hiswickedness Ahab had stirred up false witness committed murder and desecratedGod’s inheritance. Yet because he repented he did not see the destruction ofhis family because he was killed at Ramoth Gilead.

AntiChrist set aside for destructionwith his end already foretold. This is also true of the great serpent known asthe devil. Yhese beings have already crossed the line of volition and trampledon the grace given to them. We know this is true about the devil and as for theformer chance of the Antichrist we know that he once was now is not and yetwill com.

Finally God has not given us aspirit of Fear but of power love and a sound mind(2 Timothy 1:7). It is also true we are to approach the throne boldly. We do approach boldly and we dotrust absolutely. Fear like the law guides the lawbreakers and those tempted.Even or perhaps especially Christians must remember who they serve and has thepower to destroy body and soul.  May wecontinue in love so that fear has no place in us.
