I am covering Luther for this weeks assignment and it made me look at Romans again. Every time I see Romans 1 it reminds me of our culture and how far we have fallen. Such as being handed over to a reprobate mind now that is scary if you think about it.
It seems that based on scripture one of the most dangerous curses you can fall under is that of a reprobate mind. That is why it seems as Christians we must put on daily the helmet of salvation. That is we must protect our thoughts and ask the Spirit of God to keep us as we are very vulnerable in this area.

I actually started (but privatized unfinished) a post today on God giving folks over to their desires based on Romans 1 and Pharaoh of Exodus. The thing that most folk don’t seem to consider (well two things actually) is that (A) God doesn’t start the process…. they do. In effect God simply gives men over to what they want: A life without him. Things quickly spiral downward from there. and (B) It begins with a rejection of truth. Romans 1:18 is the start to the process — They suppress the truth in their unrighteousness. Proverbs 28:9 tells us that anyone who turns a deaf ear to the Law, even his prayers are an abomination before God. God takes our response to truth pretty seriously. (John 4:24 readily comes to mind)
If you really want more scripture to chew on for this topic, though, catch Ephesians 4:18-20. It’s an eye opener.
