Some of the crazy political and social  stuff going on right now would make for a great spiritual thriller such as the fiction Piercing the Darkness.  I always appreciated this work for how Frank Perretti interweaves spiritual powers and otherwise seemingly unconnected human endeavors. You could say that while I am not a believer in most conspiracies I have always believed in one which is the constant corruption of the unified powers of darkness being held in check by the Spirit of God.

This is why so many hate and fear the name of Jesus. They either try to change who Jesus is or eradicate any vestige of his influence from their lives. This they do because in their hearts they know they are in rebelion and rather than seeking the Judge who has made a way of escape they run from the one who condemns their actions while holding out a loving hand of piece.

I am covering Luther for this weeks assignment and it made me look at Romans again. Every time I see Romans 1 it reminds me of our culture and how far we have fallen. Such as being handed over to a reprobate mind now that is scary if you think about it.

It seems that based on scripture one of the most dangerous curses you can fall under is that of a reprobate mind. That is why it seems as Christians we must put on daily the helmet of salvation. That is we must protect our thoughts and ask the Spirit of God to keep us as we are very vulnerable in this area.

Fresh cut grass exhibits

The smell of life renewed

But summing up this wonder

Is simply the touch of you.

So it looks like the Republicans are standing firm for once and the President still gets what he wants. Yes we know sequester was his idea.  I will say one thing for the man he is a very talented community organizer.
