I am planning on writing a book on some very basic Christian principles. The below are some ideas taken from two of the chapters one called Incursions: Cults and Counterfeits and the other under the working title Education and Indoctrination.
1. You know I heard one person commenting on the more educated generally being more liberal or humanistic in thought as if this proves that such views of the elite are correct. What they failed to take into account is the vast amount of indoctrination as opposed to education that goes on in academia. Just like most journalist are liberal so are most teachers and professors. This is by design as they say they want to influence the younger generation.
2. Many so called Christians can say they believe in your Jesus and make fine sounding arguments. If you keep to some of the central points of the gospel and know what their own holy men say it is easy to show that they truly teach a different Jesus. below are a few comparisons of one of the major cults with many strange teachings teaches at its core.
Cult teaching- The Father was once aman like us who progressed to become a God and has a body of flesh and bone(Doctrine and Covenants 130:22).
Scripture teaches as shown in John 1:1 that God was at the beginning already there. This particular verse refers to Jesus as part of the Trinity existing for eternity. Scripture also specifies that God is Spirit as Jesus Talk with the woman at the well points out
Cult Teaching 2 -Jesus Christ,humans, angels, and fallen spirits including Satan are all eternal beings thatwere never created and that are all spirit brothers and sisters.In particular, Christ and Lucifer were two spirit brothers;(Doctrine andCovenants 93:21-33; Gospel Principles [2009], 9-10;
This Goes Directly against creation in Genesis and the as well as the description of angels in Hebrews 1.
There are as stated above many more heresies and weird teachings but even these two should suffice to show this group at its core is far from servants of the living God.
