The early disciples did not debate the resurrection of Christ merely its impact. Based on history this is how Christ should be looked at. His deity is either believed or not but the historical documentation is there which backs it up more than many other accepted pieces.
This does not mean Christians do not seek the truth in history, philosophy, and science but they should not fall into the trap of arguing with individuals who either have a vested interest in there discredit or those with no moral chore.
One reason Christians are condemed justly or not is because those condemning them can not face their own Consciences or guilt.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

I enjoyed the post,
But isn’t it possible the reason they didn’t debate the ressurrection is that it was not challenged, rather it was the meaning of the ressurection that was challenged. There were so many witnesses everywhere that Jesus’ miracles were never challenged. There are even some historical documents that recorded that at Christ’ ressurrection that there were many that also rose from the dead at that moment. The miracles because of the extensice eyewitness account were accept by most. Even the pharisees accepted the miracles, and only dare insinuate the miracles came from Satan.
But what the miracles and ressurrection meant was what the Apostles dealt with, because that is what that generation considered the main issues of the day. Today the main issue of the day is atheism, there really were no atheists during that generation. They all believed in polytheism and all were polytheists. The Roman God statues were all around. The idea that the ressurrection never occurred was proposed by modern atheists in a materialistic world. You quoted CS Lewis at the end. CS Lewis also stated all moderned atheism exponentially grew from the industrial revolution and that all atheism comes from materialism, in other words the word atheism is synonomous with materialism. We live in a materialistic world. Some say Revelation 18:1-24 describes America to a tee. The reason evangelists answer the challenge of the historical accuracy of the ressurrection is that is a common question being posed by people the atheists in America and Hollywood today.

I just realized the quote was CS Lewis of Paul in Romans…Romans 5:6-7
@RobertLeeRE - Thanks for the comments. I am all for debate and the defending of the faith. However we should avoid the mistake of always being on the defensive for some will shift the argument constantly because they are not interested in real debate. When Christians have questions and struggles in our faith it is usually well acknowledged without excuse.
@New1E13_15 - Yes, I do understand what you are saying. In many instances that surely is a true statement.
I know your into poetry. There is a poem of mine I have been working on for five years now at this link if your interested in checking it out:
